That’s why paying tribute to the magical spot where the water meets the land just feels so natural. That’s what’s going on at The Shores™, a new zone aboard Carnival Jubilee! Beaches, boardwalks and piers were just a little of what inspired us to create this zone that serves up just the right flavors and feels.
Carnival Jubilee zones
The suggested attire for women on such nights is cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses. Passengers who wish to avoid dressing up can enjoy dinner in any of the casual eateries aboard. Passengers link credit cards to their onboard accounts or put up a set amount of cash to charge against, using their keycards as a means of making purchases. The only time you might want to have some bills handy is for tipping your room steward, bartenders, room service delivery people, luggage porters or shore excursion guides. The adjacent fitness center is on the small side but features for-fee personal training and organized fitness classes, as well as equipment that's free for passengers to use. Again, I couldn't fit every single restaurant into my time on Carnival Jubilee, so I missed out on Bonsai Teppanyaki, where chefs grill your food right in front of you, complete with corny jokes.

Bonsai Teppanyaki
You'll find floor-to-ceiling windows that really bring in the ocean views. Of course you'll be back here throughout your cruise, taking a break with a nice cup of coffee or a menu of great food choices at JavaBlue™ CafĂ©, enjoying performances up on stage, or killing time fabulously at the Grand View Bar. Just wait until the sun goes down and the space slips into evening dress, transforming into an amazing show venue after dark! In Grand Central you're never far from great dining spots like Bonsai Sushi™ and Bonsai Teppanyaki™, plus feel-good entertainment like Piano Bar 88™ and The Punchliner Comedy Club™. When you’re cruising on Carnival Celebration there’s just so much destination to be found… even right on board.
First Impressions & Ship Highlights
If you plan on taking photos in wet or challenging weather conditions, consider investing in waterproof or weather-sealed gear. This will protect your equipment from water splashes, humidity, or sand particles, allowing you to capture stunning images without worrying about damage. A versatile zoom lens, such as a 24-70mm or mm, is ideal for capturing a wide range of subjects and scenes. Additionally, consider a wide-angle lens for landscapes and architecture, a telephoto lens for wildlife and sports photography, and a macro lens for close-up details. Engaging with the locals can lead to incredible photo opportunities. Strike up conversations, ask for recommendations, and show an interest in their culture.
Carnival Jubilee restaurants and bars
You'll find more free options on Carnival ships than on just about any other fleet's vessels, and they're actually tasty. It's entirely possible to eat only food that's included in the cruise fare and not feel like you're missing out. Speaking of the bed, it was exceptionally comfortable, and I was excited to find that the TV across from it had a sizable selection of free movies (as well as newer releases for a fee). The TV also allows you to watch select live channels and shipboard programming and to check your onboard bill. On my sailing, I stayed in a balcony cabin, which was elegantly decorated in neutrals with blue accents. I appreciated touches like ample vanity mirror lighting, adjustable shelving in the closets and a surplus of USB outlets throughout the room, including near the vanity and beside the bed.
There, you can order any of the same coffee beverages you'll find at JavaBlue but in far less time. If you're feeling more like a cocktail, you can grab one of those, too. On my sailing, the bartenders were phenomenal and even remembered that I prefer non-dairy milk with my lattes. Also in the space is Emeril's Bistro 717, a New Orleans-style, for-fee eatery developed by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. Carnival Celebration® wouldn’t be complete without a place for you to settle in and recharge after a long day’s fun. Carnival Celebration® has its own Punchliner Comedy Club in the Celebration Central zone, and up on stage you’ll find some real pros who know how to wedge a little laughter into anyone’s evening.
BOLT: ULTIMATE SEA COASTER
I also checked out the Bolt roller coaster – one of just three at sea – and the ship's new Golden Mermaid and Dr. Inks bars in the ship's "Currents" zone, which features an under-the-sea theme that celebrates ocean life. Let us help you tell the cruise vacation story that’s uniquely you! Our professional memory catchers work all cruise long to capture your most incredible moments. It doesn’t cost anything to smile so be sure to get out there and strike a pose! Our ship photographers take both candid and posed shots during the cruise with professional digital cameras and Portrait Studios Equipment by Nikon, Canon and Profoto.
This spot is located on the port side of the ship, and you have to pass around outdoor seating for some restaurants to get there. We checked it out several times during the cruise and never saw more than 3-4 people there. The main activity on the interior of the ship goes from Deck 6 through Deck 8. These three decks run the length of Celebration, with everything from theaters to restaurants to shops to a pool (Deck 8). We found these areas relatively easy to navigate as they run through the ship, though they do wind and weave some. However, just be ready for lots of people on these decks, which can lead to a crowded feel during busy times.

Portrait studios are set up around the ship every evening and a wide variety of formal and casual backdrops are offered. In addition, the friendly photographers can be found on the gangway, in the dining room and on the deck for those fun memorable shots. Since there is no obligation to purchase photos, guests can take as many as they want and then purchase only their favorite ones. Haute cuisine meets atmosphere at Fahrenheit 555™, a dining experience that stands toe-to-toe with some of the best steakhouses on land. Ours features your choice of steak cuts, lobster, lamb and more… and inside, there’s even a full bar that pours great pairings. These are the building blocks of an amazing experience — delectable elements that combine with great service to offer an evening to remember.
It offers a three-deck performance area (complete with stage and video backdrop) where performances are held throughout the entire cruise that’s also combined with a path through the rest of the ship. Once you have registered on Carnival.com, you will be able to submit a reservation request from 'Manage My Booking' - simply click on 'Dreams Studio'. Our shipboard photo team will call you on the first day of your cruise to schedule your private photo shoot. Pixels Photo PricesApplicable state and local taxes will be charged to the guest folio when the photo(s) is redeemed within US waters. The tax is based on the state’s tax structure and the cost of the photo(s) purchased. This applies to all US ports (embarkation, home ports and ports-of-call).
Activities here are less structured, and participants can come and go as they please. Kids and adults who aren't afraid of heights will enjoy the top-deck ropes course, which offers two options for different levels of skill and bravery. The Bolt roller coaster, a minigolf course and a basketball court are also found in the SportSquare area within the Ultimate Playground zone.
I also missed Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, another Guy Fieri creation that serves barbecue fare, wings and microbrewed beer made right on the ship (lunch is free). I couldn't make it to Chef's Table, an exclusive multicourse small-group dining experience that's the most pricey meal on board, either. My favorite onboard dining experience of the whole sailing was at Emeril's Bistro 717 in the Currents zone on Deck 6. A version of this chef Emeril Lagasse-affiliated spot is on each of Carnival's Excel Class ships, bearing the hull number of the original vessel for which the new one is named. Simply walk up to order at the counter, have a seat and a waiter will take over from there.

When I received it, the bun was soggy, and no garnishes or sauces were offered until I went back to the counter to ask for coleslaw and tartar sauce, neither of which helped the flavor. Excellent added-fee options include steak, seafood and teppanyaki, which might be worth trying if you're celebrating a special occasion or feeling like a splurge. The first couple had to do with differences between the Carnival HUB app and the daily Fun Times printed schedule. On one occasion, the app said Seafood Shack opened half an hour earlier than it did, while the paper version of the daily schedule had the correct information.
Your order should arrive approximately six weeks after returning home. Due to the high volume of photos taken, the files are deleted soon after each cruise. The latest overhead images of the new port development in Freeport, Bahamas, reveal that Carnival Cruise Line’s new cruise port construction is well underway. First announced in 2019, the destination port is expected to be completed on time for the grand opening around the end of 2024.
